May in Budapest

One of the more beautiful European cities we have visited with its multiple bridges and castles. The Buda side is very hilly and provides an amazing view of the Pest side with thousands of buildings. The nights are truly magical as everything lights up and the city glows. It was a great trip and would defiantly put it in our top places we have been too. Hope you enjoy the photos!

Cinderella Castle

Left from Wiesbaden, Germany on Wednesday and headed south to Stuttgart where we spend the night at the military kaserne. After waking up early we continued our trip to the Austrian Alps where we stopped at the Neuschwanstein Castle. The castle is considered the inspiration for Walt Disney's, Cinderella Castle. We hiked and hour off the beaten path to the top of a cliff for the best photo opportunity. Once we were done with our little hike we drove to Garmisch which went through Austria and we spend the night at Edelweiss, lodge and resort.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Completed another semester at George Mason University; only four more to go!

Currently back in Germany for a little R&R with my parents again.

Congressional Gold Medal to Capitol Artist

House and Senate leaders, speak during the Congressional Gold Medal posthumously to Constantino Brumidi. Brumidi, was awarded with the medal for his many artistic contributions to the United States Capitol. One of his most famous pieces is the ceiling of the Rotunda. Unfortunately, Brumidi did not complete the piece in the Rotunda as he died from falling off scaffolding while working on it.

Walk out for Holder

On the same day as the Supreme Court rules in favor of President Obamas health care overhaul, the House Republicans decide to vote on holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress which passes in the House. Holder was accused for not submitting some of the documents in the Fast and Furious program, which ultimately led to the death of a board patrol agent. To protest the vote, House Democrats hold a walk out during the call for votes.
